With very heavy & sad hearts, Kerry and I had made the decision to let
Sherlock go. As much as we both would have wanted him around a lot
longer, his old frail, weak body could no longer handle day to day tasks.
With the assistance of Dr. Hunter, Sherlock went on his journey in the
evening of Tuesday, November 8, 2005. As Dr. Hunter inserted the needle
I looked straight into Sherlock's eyes, told him I loved him, and promised
him I would see him later, as the solution was injected his body slowly
became limp & very quietly & peacefully he fell asleep in my arms.
As we mourn the loss of our little buddy, we know that time heals all things
including broken hearts, and every day will get easier to except that he may
be gone in body but his memory will always live on in our minds & our hearts.
